Important Nutritional Steps For Treating Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, 50% of all men and 33% of all women in the United States, will develop some sort of cancer in their lifetime. In a healthy body, cells divide at a controlled rate so as to grow and repair damaged tissues and replace dying cells. This predetermined rate of cell division is what keeps our bodies healthy. If cells keep multiplying when new ones arent necessary, a mass of tissue, called a growth or tumor, is formed. A benign tumor is not cancerous, and can occur anywhere in the body without spreading to other parts and does not come grow back if removed. Malignant tumors however, are cancerous and can be life-threatening. Malignant tumors grow uncontrollably, interfere with normal metabolic and organ functioning, and have the ability to invade other tissues. All cancer cells have two things in common, they grow uncontrollably, and they have the ability to metastasize (spread to other parts of the body). Possible contributors to the development and growth of cancer, can be divided into three categories:

1. Externals unhealthy environments and exposure to air and water pollution, chemicals, pesticides and herbicides from our food supply.

2. Internal Factors include genetics, infections, and a depressed immune system.

3. Lifestyle factors (what we can readily control) including diet, smoking, drinking, and sun exposure. People exposed to cigarette smoke have significantly higher rates of lung cancer. Regular alcohol consumption increases the risk of mouth and throat cancers. A diet that is high in fat and low in fiber is associated with a greater risk of colon rectal cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. According to a study released by the Harvard University school of Public health, poor diet, lack of exercise, and unhealthy lifestyle elements are responsible for about 65% of cancer deaths.

The following is a breakdown of the overall percentages of cancers many researchers attribute to different lifestyle factors: 1. Poor diet and obesity 30%

2. Smoking 30%

3. Genetics 10%

4. Carcinogens in the workplace 5%

5. Family history 5%

6. Lack of exercise 5%

7. Viruses 5%

8. Alcohol 3%

9. Reproductive Factors 3%

10. Socioeconomic Status 3%

11. environmental Pollution 2%

many experts believe that what these factors have in common is that they increase the bodys exposure to free radicals. Free radical damage is an important factor that leads to uncontrolled cellular growth, which is characteristic of cancer. Another significant factor are poor dietary choices and cigarette smoke because they impair the immune system. The immune system is responsible for destroying pre-cancerous cells before they develop into cancer. There are more than a hundred different varieties of cancer; they have different causes and symptoms, and vary in aggressiveness.

However, there are four broad categories

1. Carcinomas Cancers that affect the skin, mucous membranes, glands, and internal organs.

2. Leukemias Cancers of blood forming tissues.

3. Sarcomas Cancers that affect muscles, connective tissue, and bones.

4. Lymphomas Cancers that affect the lymphatic system.

The seven classic early warning signs of cancer:

1. Change in bowel or bladder habits

2. A sore that does not heal

3. unusual bleeding or discharge

4. Thickening or lump in breast or elsewhere

5. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing

6. Obvious change in a wart or mole

7. Nagging cough or hoarseness

Recommendations:

Boosting the immune system is very helful for increasing white blood cells and macrophages that are known to attack and literally eat cancerous cells. We suggest a high quality whole food supplement, like VITAFORCE that is complete and made from whole foods. It should be high in natural Vitamin C as well as a wide array of essential nutrients. Make sure you know what you are getting from the nutritional label.

An herbal detoxification program may be helpful in removing aluminum, other heavy metals, and thousand of other toxins and poisons from the body. These toxins have been shown to have an overall significant depressing effect on the immune system. Look for organic whole herb formulas. If interested, take a look at our selection of herbal formulas.

Eat a minimum of 50% raw organic foods; including broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, spinach, carrots, pumpkin, squash, yams, apples, all berries, cantaloupe, cherries, grapes, plums, Brazil nuts, and legumes. All of these foods have important nutrients and phytochemicals, which are important in fighting and preventing cancer. Berries protect DNA from damage. Many of the plant pigments in red, yellow, orange, and blue fruits and vegetables, are good sources of antioxidants (destroys free radicals).

Eat raw garlic liberally as it enhances the immune system and is a good cancer fighter.

Eat 10 raw almonds every day. Almonds contain Laetrile, which has anti-cancer properties.

Green tea has many cancer fighting properties, including a substance known as EGCg, which has been found to cut off blood vessels that feed cancerous tumors.

Eat as many tomatoes as possible. Tomatoes contain a phyto-nutrient and antioxidant called lycopene, which protects against and fights cancer.

Drink fresh live juices including varying combinations of the following juices including beetroot, beet greens, carrot, cabbage, and asparagus. Also drink grape, black cherry, and all dark colored juices.

Drink steam distilled water only. Use a filter for your shower.

Increased levels of radium in public tap water has been associated with increased rates of lung, bladder, and breast cancers, as well as leukemias.

Get regular exercise. Exercise helps to promote oxygen in the tissues. Cancer cannot live in the presence of oxygen.

Yoga and deep breathing can also be very helpful.

Because of potential low-level radiation leakage, avoid microwave ovens. Sit a minimum of 8 feet away from televisions and avoid x-rays.

Avoid chemicals such as hairsprays, cleaning products, fresh paints, and garden pesticides.

Remove all other known and suspected carcinogens from your life and home.

As much as possible, avoid stress.

Things to Avoid:

All Animal Foods: dairy foods (milk, cheese, butter, cream, ice cream), fish, meat, chicken, turkey, eggs, fried and greasy foods, margarine, and all other processed foods and animal derived products from your diet. These foods are laced with chemicals, pesticides, and toxins as well as high levels of saturated fats which have a very damaging a draining effect on the immune system and the rest of the body.

Salt, tobacco, caffeine, sodas, coffee, sugar, and refined white flour (breads, pastas, cereals- replace with whole wheat pastas, breads, and cereals). These products are extraordinarily destructive to the immune system and the body.

Bluetooth Headsets Explained

For a wireless headset, you can do no wrong in choosing a Bluetooth headset. They are more compact than a wired headset, and certainly more lighter, but you have to take into consideration the fact that the wireless Bluetooth headset needs a battery.

The more popular choice for a Bluetooth headset is the one with the loop around the ear so that it is held in place. It may seem that it is not as secure as the on that is designed to be jammed into your ear, but it is found to be way more comfortable.

You will want to check around to see the different prices. Looking online is where you will probably find the cheaper Bluetooth headset, and if you are willing to wait a few weeks for it, then this is probably where you should go.

Go to an electronics store and see if they have one you can try. You want to make sure that you can hear well with it, and that you can figure out the controls and work with it easily.

You will want to know how long the battery generally lasts and figure out if you want one that you need to charge or one that allows you to just put in a new battery. It is important that the headset is also compatible with your phone.

Choosing a Bluetooth headset is a good choice. It is a very popular brand and you cant put a price on safety.

A Modern Fable

In this story you are an infant. One of your parents, lets say your mother, is holding you. (In a classic fairy tale you would be a golden haired princess and you would be being held prisoner by an evil witch, but were on a budget, so well do the common persons fairy tale.) Your mother is struggling with her personal issues and although she is doing the best she can, she cannot give you the attention you need. That means that she cannot hold you as securely as you need. Feeling insecure, you naturally wonder if she is acting like this because there is something undesirable about you. After all, if you were really valued she would treat you with greater consideration. (When the love that a child needs is withheld the child naturally questions her worthiness. It is in the nature of all of us, but it is acute in children.)

As your mother continues to struggle with her issues, the relationship between you becomes difficult. She doesnt mean to hurt you, but she lets you slip out of her grasp and you fall. Unfortunately, you land in a fresh cow pie.

Your initial feelings of not being good enough have just been strongly reinforced. Your mother picks you up but her preoccupation with her own issues prevents her from cleaning all of the manure from you. You look around for help from dad, but hes not there. Hes mostly at work and when hes home he is not emotionally available anyway.

So there you are, soiled and smelly. Something is obviously wrong. No only are you feeling unloved and unworthy, you now have the stink to prove it. The other people in your family arent able to clean you up. They dont know how to get rid of their own manure, no one in the family does. Because of this. and the continuing non-nurturing aspects of the family, your feelings of unworthiness become substantially reinforced.

The manure dries, you grow up and having little choice, you become resigned to living with it. Who you are has become tainted with the aromatic flavor of something potent that does not belong to you. You do not deserve it, but the circumstances of your life have caused you to believe otherwise. You have become convinced that you deserve to be unloved, and there isnt much in your environment that contradicts that belief. Actually, theres quite a bit of negative reinforcement regarding your imperfections and failings, leading you to conclude that this must be what you deserved. You also resign yourself that this is what the rest of your life has in store for you. Your grandparents try to help you, because grandparents are immune to the odor of manure, but its just not enough.

In order to get by you start applying perfume in an attempt to mask the smell of your imperfections. Although it helps you to get by, you know that you are living a lie and you live with the constant fear that someone will pick up the telltale scent of manure and you will be exposed. Some people do pick up on the perfumed smell and shy away from you because they know that something funny is going on, even if they do not understand it. You end up feeling worse.

You, of course, must act as if the perfumed you is the normal you, while hiding your real self away under the mask. You treat the your real self as though she had leprosy, hiding her from criticism. You live on a tightrope, alone, cursed and unable to risk getting close to anyone who is clean for fear that they will detect the smell you and reject you. So you seek out others who are also wearing manure to have relationships with. You make an unspoken deal, I will ignore your manure if you will ignore mine. Then of course, the moment the other person gets scared or hurt, they immediately break the agreement and point to your manure as the cause of the problem. You of course, respond in kind. Soon you are engaged in a manure war with all sorts of manure flying around. Each of you becomes entrenched, busily defending your position. Little of a constructive nature is accomplished.

Wounded and despondent, you pull back from life and start looking for answers to your dilemma. The Church tells you that the manure is your fault and that you should be repentant for your sinful nature for having it. Your boss tells you that you are just not trying hard enough to overcome it. A therapist shows you how to behave as though the manure doesnt exist. A yoga teacher encourages you to achieve calmness in spite of the smell. New Age books and CDs show you that beautiful flowers grow in manure and that you need to surrender to your bliss. Some of what you learn is helpful, but you still smell badly and you dont like it. You know that it repels other people.

Unable to get real answers, and beset by a continuing series of problems, you pray to God for help. To your surprise, there is an answer. God says, Take off your soiled clothing and bathe yourself in love. That which is causing you pain is not yours. It does not belong to you, it never has. Conditioned by years of experience, the thought of giving up your life-long attachment seems impossible. But, you reply, I cant. This soiled state is all that I know. Its who I think I am. Besides, what would happen if you gave up your soiled clothing and there was nothing else for you to put on! You would be left alone in the cold and naked. It has felt that way in past lives and there is no reason to believe that the present situation will be any different. Feeling once again like a failure, you turn away, push on, and do the best you can.

Clinging steadfastly to your belief of unworthiness, life continues to cause you pain, but you persist. The lessons intensify. Eventually you are confronted with a crisis. Perhaps it is the painful end of a relationship or a business failure. Maybe it is a physical crisis, with the prospect of death or a considerably worsened physical condition demanding that you make serious changes to the way you have been in the world.

Whatever the obstacle, something will push you to the point that you can no longer sustain the beliefs you hold about yourself. You will no longer be able to sustain the facade. Pushed over the limit, your resistance breaks. Bruised and beaten, willing to surrender, you cry out to God for help. He says, I understand. And then He repeats, Take off your soiled clothing and bathe yourself in love. That which is causing you pain is not yours. It does not belong to you, it never has. With nowhere else to turn, a crack in the darkness opens and you begin to see that it is really not you, that it is the manure you have been carrying all this time that has caused your pain. God continues, The process you have experienced has been created so that you would come to see the truth about who you are. In the process you will heal the vulnerability that allowed the manure to stick to you in the first place. Your vulnerability gave the beliefs a place to stick. He then tells you, This is all part of the process we have created together called Life. He further explains that learning to accept the truth about who you are is an important step in your spiritual development. Since you have free will, it was necessary for you to come to this realization by yourself. He could not give it to you.

Paris Locations of The Da Vinci Code

The beginning of The Da vinci code takes place in Paris, visiting some of Paris most famous and visited attractions, notably the Louvre Museum and the Jardins des Tuileries. The Da vinci code visits other less famous Paris attractions: saint-Sulpice Church and the Arago Rose Line.

saint-Sulpice Church, the supposed home to the Priory of Sion is in fact Paris biggest church. saint-Sulpice is larger than Notre Dame! The present church, built in the middle of the 16th century replaced a previous Romanesque church built in the 13th. Yes, saint-Sulpice has a brass line on its floor and an Obelisk as The Da vinci code states. But its not the Paris Meridian (thats about 100 yards away), what the The Da vinci code calls the Rose Line. In fact the line inside saint-Sulpice is used to determine the winter solstice and Easter. At one end of the brass line is the Obelisk and the other end a marble plate. When the sun, passing through a saint-Sulpice window with a lens in it, touches the Obelisk it is the winter solstice. When the sun touches the marble plate it is the summer solstice. When the sun shines on the metal plate in the middle between the Obelisk and the marble plate it is Easter.

The Arago Rose Line, simply called the Rose Line in The da vinci code is the once 0 longitude line, better known as the Paris Meridian. The world used the Paris Meridian to calculate 0 longitude until 1888, then Greenwich England became the first prime meridian. In the 1990s 135 bronze disks were placed in its honor. The Arago Rose Line is named after French astronomer Francois Arago who recalculated the Paris Meridian in the early 19th and thus gave it greater accuracy. The Arago Rose Line runs north south through Paris for a distance of about 6 miles. Finding the Arago Rose Line can be a bit difficult but a lot of fun. I would try the Comdie-Franaise near the Palais Royal, also close to the Louvre. It might take time but you will find them!
